Vendor Spotlight: Oregon Bark

The Tom Bumble Bars are some of the best peanut butter dark chocolate combos we have EVER had!

We are so excited to be featuring Anne with Tom Bumble on the blog today. She is a local maker that has a heart of gold. She works incredibly hard and is always providing the most amazing treats to our clients. Take a minute to learn more about this rad business!

What is your favorite product that you offer, and why?

My favorite product is Tom Bumble Smooth, ideally in a two pack or a four pack. I love the soft yet flaky shards of candied peanut butter enrobed in dark chocolate. All too often they've filled in where a meal was supposed to be.

What does a day in the life look like for you?

I make candy most days of the week, so I'm usually in a mad rush to deliver and ship orders around production. When we're not making candy, I'm usually sampling candies at our retailers around the region.

How long have you been in business?

I've been making candy since the winter of 2012 but left the world of toffee chocolate bark in the spring of 2014 in favor of candied nut butter confections.

How did you get your start?

I owned and ran a cooking school in Los Angeles for twelve years and moved to Portland in the spring of 2012 because I fell in love with a Portland man. My cooking school was an enormous amount of work and management, and I wanted to start a food business that I knew I could run on my own for at least a few years. I kind of fell into candy because it appeared to be manageable. Boy did I have a lot to learn!

What is one unique thing that people may not know about your products?

It's really hard for people to believe that our bars are handmade from start to finish. We make, wrap, label and box 1000 candy bars a day with our actual hands.
